Good SMS copy is short, specific and easy to act on. Here are five templates you can lift and adapt. Swap the details for your own, keep the length close to what you see here, and always send from a name people recognise.
1. Appointment reminder
Hi Ama, this is a reminder of your appointment at Grace Clinic tomorrow at 10am. Reply YES to confirm or call 024 400 0000 to reschedule.
Send it the day before, not a week before. People forget week-old reminders.
2. Order is ready
Kwame, your order #1042 is ready for pickup at our Osu shop. We are open till 7pm today. See you soon!
A pickup nudge like this quietly recovers orders people forgot they placed.
3. Back in stock
The size 42 boots you asked about are back in stock. We have only a few pairs. Reply BUY or come in before the weekend.
Only send this to the people who actually asked. It reads as a favour, not a blast.
4. Thank you after a purchase
Thank you for shopping with us today, Efua. If anything is not right, reply to this message and we will sort it out. We appreciate you.
No offer, no ask. It costs almost nothing and it is the message people remember.
5. Gentle payment reminder
Hello, a friendly reminder that your invoice #338 of GHS 450 is due on Friday. Pay via the link or reply if you need a few more days.
Kind beats stern. People pay the businesses they do not dread hearing from.
The trick is personalising at scale
Notice every template opens with the customer's name. Writing "Hi Ama" to one person is easy. Writing it to five thousand people, each with their own name, order number and amount, is where most tools fall over and everyone ends up with a generic "Dear Customer" blast instead.
A capable bulk SMS platform merges each person's details into the message automatically, so a send to your whole list still reads like a note written just for them. On Hellio you upload your list, map the columns once, and every message goes out personalised, from a Sender ID your customers recognise. If you have not registered your name yet, start with getting a Sender ID approved.
That combination, a familiar name and a message that feels personal, is doing most of the work. The rest is keeping it short and asking for exactly one thing. When you are ready, see how bulk SMS works on Hellio.
