Install the Hellio Messaging extension on your OpenCart 3.x store and start sending order updates, OTPs and bulk SMS in a few minutes. The screens below are mockups of what you will see in the admin.

You need a Hellio account and OpenCart 3.x. Do not have an account yet? Create one free.

Get the extension

Download hellio-sms-opencart-1.0.0.ocmod.zip from GitHub. Every version is on the releases page.

Upload the extension

Go to Extensions, Installer and upload the .ocmod.zip. Then open Extensions, Modifications and click Refresh so the checkout changes apply.

Enable and open settings

Go to Extensions, Modules, find Hellio SMS and click Edit. Enter your Hellio email and password and click Connect. The extension stores only the token it gets back, never your password. Two-factor accounts are asked for a code. Then set a default Sender ID and save.

Set up order messages

Turn on the order statuses you want to text customers about and edit each template. Placeholders like {customer_first_name} and {order_number} fill in per order.

Enable OTP to verify the customer's phone before the order is confirmed. Pick the code length and how long it stays valid.

Send a test

Use the Send SMS tab to fire a message to your own number and confirm everything works. It accepts one number or a pasted list.

If your store uses a custom theme, the OTP field is injected on the default checkout. After a theme change, re-run Extensions, Modifications, Refresh. Order status SMS and the admin tools work regardless of theme.
